OUR STORY

About Paulownia Trust

Paulownia Trust began its journey back in 1977, when Condell House first opened as a gentleman’s rest home. In 1992, Audrey and Murray Stephen took ownership, bringing with them a vision of care grounded in dignity, respect, and community. When Templeton closed in 1996, many families were left searching for the right support for loved ones with disabilities. Audrey and Murray responded by establishing Paulownia Trust in 1997, a registered charity dedicated to providing safe, meaningful, and supportive living environments.

For many years, Paulownia operated from Retreat Road in Avonside. In 2021, we moved to our current location on Ferry Road, Woolston. Here, our services have continued to grow, with the addition of modern Supported Independent Living units alongside our established residential homes.
