HELPFUL INFORMATION

Frequently asked questions

Can I decorate my room?

Yes, absolutely. We encourage residents to make their space feel like home. You’re welcome to bring personal items, photos, and decorations that reflect your style and comfort. Our team is happy to support you in setting up your room so it feels truly your own, while ensuring everything remains safe and practical.

Who looks after my medication?

All medication needs to be kept in a secure place. If you are able to take your own medication, staff will give it to you to take. If you are unable, staff will administer your medication in the way that best suits you.

What government funding is available to help with the costs?

Funding generally comes through MSD, WINZ, Lifelinks, EGL, DSS.

Can I have visitors?

Absolutely you can have visitors, we just ask that there be no large gatherings out of respect for the others living at Paulownia and no overnight stays.

What activities are available for residents?

Paulownia prides itself on catering for individual needs, so if there is something that is of particular interest to people we make sure you are able to attend. We quite often have events in the residential houses that friends and family are invited to.

Is transport available for appointments or outings?

If you are living in residential, we will support/transport you to any appointments and outing (if you require support/ transport for outings). If you are living in Supported Independent Living, we will encourage and support people to utilise public transport so that this can be added to your skill base for the future, although there is also Paulownia transport available if required.
